I started my Bachelor Degree in Psychology at Universidad Central de Venezuela in March 2012. During those three years I was interested the most on neurological disorders and issues related to chronic diseases, reason why during my 5th semester I joined the Instituto de Investigación de Psicología of my university, where I had the opportunity to work as a research assistant in subjects such as the relationship of stress and coping mechanisms in chronic diseases: Diabetes Mellitus, insulin resistance, kidney failure and cancer.
In the end of 2015 I started my Master Degree in Clinical Psychology with a Cognitive-Behavioural approach. At this point my interest on neurological disorders was more clear for me and a year later I received the opportunity to work at Invedin, a multidisciplinary institution with a comprehensive approach for children and teenagers with neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and ASD mainly, but also vulnerable communities victims of violence and living in precarious situations. My time at Invedin was crucial for my professional formation and in the meantime I also completed a short specialisation in Developmental Disorders in Children and Teenagers at Universidad Monteávila.
After leaving my country, I decided to start online therapy to support people who have become immigrants and are looking to improve their lives or follow their dreams. Today, I work in Brussels and Tervuren as a clinical psychologist for teenagers aged 12 and above and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, burnout and anger management. Some of these cases have ADHD or ASD as the basis for developing such problems, but their learning process and environment play an important role in their recovery process.
