Welcome! I am Amber, child and adolescent psychologist with a heart for care. You can come to me as a child, adolescent, young adult or parent when worries make you feel stuck. Together, I like to look for perspective, clarity and grip. My approach is warm, open and client-oriented. Your pace is central: I listen to every question, big or small, and adapt my guidance to the strengths and needs of everyone involved. I work with play therapy, talk therapy, creative therapy,
Psycho-education, parental counselling and perception testing.
Children, adolescents and young adults (aged 4 to 23) can come to me with questions about identity, coping with (physical or mental) disabilities, emotion regulation, stress, fear of failure, insecurity, school fatigue, bullying, assertiveness, attachment, trauma and difficulties in divorce or family dynamics. You are also welcome with other questions: I like to look with an open mind. A process always starts with an intake and exploration phase. Through several sessions, together we map out what is going on and draw up a treatment plan to work towards recovery together.
In 2022, I graduated magna cum laude from KU Leuven with a master's degree in clinical psychology for children and adolescents. I gained experience at MFC Heder by working with children and young people with physical and mental disabilities and later as an outpatient front-line psychologist. This introduced me to a wide range of care issues.
Learning and growing is very important to me: I took a training course on LGBTI+ inclusive counselling (KLIQ) and follow
currently doing a postgraduate degree in client-centred psychotherapy (Focus On Emotion - KU Leuven).
In my spare time, I enjoy gaming and board games with friends and family. You can also find me on the dance floor, indulging in a chacha, tango, swing or waltz.
The step to help is not always easy. I am happy to reach out to you to regain perspective and
find confidence.
