Meet Mallika
I am Mallika, originally from India. Since I was little, I have seen yoga as a lifestyle all around me. So I have literally grown up with yoga. Since this yoga has so much peace and positive effects, which we need tremendously in this volatile world, I want to support and guide you on your path to wellbeing as a Yoga Trainer trained in India and in Belgium.
What does yoga offer?
Yoga is not just a physical exercise; it is a holistic approach that brings body, mind and spirit into harmony. Through regular practice, you can:
- Improve flexibility and strength.
- Finding inner peace and clarity.
- Develop a deeper self-awareness.
- Reduce stress and tension.
Yoga is not a trend
In many places, I see that yoga has become a real trend. Many people, mostly women, go to trendy places to perform the well-known moves like downward facing dog etc at a hellish pace and amplitude that often goes beyond what people are often comfortable with at that time. This also often in large groups where a personal touch is difficult to achieve.
It is important to think of yoga as a way of life and not something you do quickly and intensively for a few hours a week.
Small groups, personal attention: tailor-made yoga
I have moved away from teaching yoga in studios where larger groups are presented with fast-paced yoga. I consciously teach private yoga class or in small group where I limit participants to just 4. This creates an intimate setting where you get personal attention and guidance and therefore specifically selected exercises tailored to you. Whether you are a beginner or already experienced, in these small groups I can focus on your individual needs at the time and help you deepen your yoga practice.
This yoga class is not just a succession of a few movements. I go back to basics and look with you at how we can work with tailor-made yoga best strengthen you and give you the peace of mind you need.
Whether you are looking for physical challenges, mental peace or spiritual growth, I invite you to explore the multifaceted world of yoga. Together, we will dive into this ancient practice and discover what it can do for you.
Happy to remove some assumptions
Do I need to be flexible to do yoga?
No. All you need is willingness. We start exactly where we are, both in our bodies and in our minds.
Yoga is mainly for women.
No. Yoga is for everyone who has a body 🙂 and a mind 🙂 🙂 🙂 .
Do I have to be strong to do yoga?
No. We build our flexibility and strength through regular practice.
Yoga is slow.
No. We use mobility movements and smooth transitions while matching the tempo to our breathing rhythm.
The poses must be perfect.
No. Perfection is a myth. Every body looks different in every pose, depending on anatomical variations.
Yoga teachers are naturally flexible.
No. Yoga teachers are people dedicated to a consistent practice of asana and pranayama, which (probably) makes them more at ease in their bodies - making them seem 'flexible' or 'strong'.
How can yoga help me?
- Breathe, breathe and breathe - mastering this aspect of life will transform both your body and mind.
- Good breathing habits have a positive effect on organ function.
- Asana and pranayama calm the mind by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system.
- An asana practice helps us feel more comfortable in our bodies.
- It helps strengthen our joints and muscles.
- We can begin to see ourselves beyond the boundaries of body and mind.
- And perhaps we will become curious about yoga philosophy - only to discover how relevant these ancient texts still are to life today!
Still not sure if this is for you? You can always try 1 session to see if it suits you 🙂 .
